Today was the official release day for Fellowship Songs Vol. 1 and your generosity was absolutely overwhelming. So far the donations that we've received have gotten us well on our way to not only covering our expenses in this first project, but in the next one as well. I hope you have a great time worshipping to this first volume of original worship songs that God has gifted on the hearts of our fellowship.
Several people also need recognition:
Kenny McKnight - My constant companion during the recording process and a phenomenol contributor to the music you hear (drums...guitar...bass...pretty much everything)
Jimmy Durst - For laying down some thumping bass lines
Mike Kennedy - For laying down some insanely great harmony work...including two part harmony on at least one song.
Miranda McKnight - For assembling all the CD cases and jackets this morning...she cut those case inserts by hand.
Sydney (sorry if I didn't spell it right) Kennedy - For helping me burn the remainder of the CD's this morning.
While none of these folks desire any recognition for their work on this project I thought it was only appropriate to make mention of all their amazing contriibutions to this first of many more projects to come. I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many talented individuals. I can't wait to start work on the next one. January can't get here fast enough.
Thank you again, church, for your amazing outpouring of support this morning. Your generosity touches my own heart very deeply. I promise you that we will keep working hard to glorify God through this music that he has allowed us to use to bring great reknown to His name.
I got to listen to it today (since I didn't have school, hee hee!) and am amazed. I had to keep reminding myself that you did that in a small child's small bedroom, a closet, etc. It sounds so full and, for that matter, full of life. I, at least, know the second part to be true. These recordings are full of the life blood that flows through the heart of Oasis CF...The very people of Oasis themselves. And Chris & Chad, you are at the center of these people. NO, NO! Thank YOU for everything that you do, my friend. Thank you.
But I know why you worked so hard on this project. If you had asked me 10 years ago to come sing on a CD to give to people with nothing in it for me, I would've said, "No, I've got too much important stuff going on". Now I can't wait to share this with anyone who will listen and even a few people who won't. I want to share God's glory in song, I want to inspire his people to sing along and praise Him with one collective voice. I want people to know Him as the Awesome One that I have come to know Him as and I know that this is what drives you too, Chad.
Besides, they make great Christmas gifts!!!
Yes, January, where are you?

Mike,
Stefani, Brooklyn, and I listened to the Fellowship Songs volume 1 CD in the hospital room yesterday afternoon after Brooklyn was born (thanks to my mom and dad and grandma who hand delivered us a copy). We really really enjoyed it. It was well done on all parts. But I have to tell you, what you add with the harmonies is amazing! Stefani pointed out immediately how great you sound and how much you add to not only the CD, but to our praise and worship time at church. I just wanted to share that with you because I think that the behind the scenes people (both with the sound board and background vocals) often times get forgotten.
Well done to all involved!
Jared, Stefani, Gavin, and Brooklyn
PS - We can't wait until Christmas because most likely that will be the first opportunity for baby Brooklyn to worship with us at Oasis. I cannot wait for Behold the Lamb of God!

Chad,
One of my favorite parts of the whole cd is at the end of 'Wonderful' where you edit to a Sunday morning gathering of the fellowship singing togethr. Not only is the edit perfect, but everyone is just really pouring it out and it sounds "wonderful"!

Three things to you, Jared:
1) Thank you so much Jared and Stephanie. I appreciate the compliment. I thank God every day for gifting me in this way.
2) Welcome Brooklyn! I can't wait to meet you.
3) I guess this comment is actually to Chad. I agree with Jared about "Wonderful". That piece at the end is not only extremely cool with all of you wonderful singers singing, but it also fits together seamlessly. I love that song. I have been singing it all week.
