Oasis Google Apps

Something I have been working on (whenever I have a free minute) is a way for our church community to be better connected via the use of internet tools and applications. Ever since I discovered Google Applications I have slowly but surely fallen in love with the technology and what it is capable of doing, particularly for communities like ours.

Basically, here is a quick list of what could be available to YOU (YOU = "anyone who desires to be connected with Oasis events, teachings, worship resources, documents, flyers, chat, email, etc."):

• A web calendar, from which reminders and updates can be sent to your email or cell phone
• Your own "bethechurch" email address via the gmail interface (which is what I now use exclusively) 
• Access to all Oasis documents, flyers, posters, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. 
• Opportunities to chat online with other Oasis members 

Google is continually upgrading their software, so undoubtedly there will be additional opportunities presented through this tool. In fact, you may have noticed the imbedded version of the calendar in the right-hand column of this web page.

If you are interested in taking a look at what we have so far in Google Apps, just send an email to me at chris@bethechurch.com. I will reply with your user login and you can go ahead and begin using the Oasis Google Applications. It will only continue to grow from here.
