Hey everybody,
I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up...today it was decided that a date should be set for our next "Living Room" recording. Right now, barring any unforseen events, we have this set for Wednesday, June 4th...i repeat...Wednesday, June 4th. That puts us roughly 8 weeks away from the actual event. The last recording event was very special for me personally. I just had such a great time. So...mark your calendars and plan to be at Jim and Julie's on June 4th. Bring your voices and be ready to sing. We'll do what we can to let you know what songs we're planning on recording so that you can have a sense of what to be familiar with when you show up on the night of the event. Now, for those of you who are reading this and find yourself asking, "What's he talking about," let me explain exactly what this thing is.
In mid 2005 we got serious about setting up a date to basically make an album's worth of our praise band doing some of our favorite worship songs. During a typical Meigs County November night, Jim and Julie were kind enough to open up their home and allow us to invade it for an evening of spirited worship and recording. What we had when the whole thing was over was a great little project that captured the Oasis family engaged in worship. We then turned around and pressed out 50 or so CD's of that night that people could take home with them. It all worked out quite well.
It's hard to believe that it's been two plus years since that night. A lot of new music has come into our fellowship since that time so we figured that it was about time that we get on the ball about doing yet another worship recording with the Oasis family. To that end, The Living Room 2 is officially in the church calendar. Here are the vital statistics that you'll want to know:
(1) When: Wednesday June 4th
(2) Where: Jim and Julie Dursts Home
(3) Time: 6:00 p.m. to ???? we'd like to be done in a few hours but at the latest we'd like to be done by 9:00 p.m. for the sake of everybody involved. The band will be well prepared so this shouldn't be an issue.
I'll be greatly looking forward to this night. Feel free to make requests about what you'd like to see make it on to that recording...
