Last year on a perfect Christmas eve night, the Oasis family gathered together for a musical experience. Jared, Jim, Jamitha and I performed most of Andrew Peterson's "Behold the Lamb of God" CD. I really felt like it was a good experience for everyone that was there. I had a lot of fun playing the songs as did my other bandmates. We're going to do it again this year.
I know this might seem EXTREMELY early to be announcing this but I thought it appropriate...here's 2 reasons why:
(1) We want to get the word out to as many people as we can once we get a little closer to Christmas time. Around November we want you to tell everyone you know about this so that everyone who's available can come out and enjoy it.
(2) This year we'll be stepping things up a tad on this musical endeavor. I want to attempt to do everything that's on the album. By and large this shouldn't be difficult. Many of the songs are simple and easily workable into our format. However, there are a few things that will require some considerable practice. So between now and then I'd like to begin practicing a few of these songs, namely the more difficult ones.
If you participated last year and you want to do it again then please let me know. I'm already recruiting musicians. I imagine that we'll have much the same band that we did last year. We are going to be adding a few people this year. We'll mainly be seeking to add a keyboard player and maybe some accessory percussion to the mix. Those of you who did this last year or any of you that I've already spoken with, if you want to get together and practice some time I now have the songbook for this CD which includes a lot of "parts" that we can practice together.
Anyone who has any special memories that they'd like to share about "Behold the Lamb of God" would be most welcome here. Can't wait to start practicing!!!

Andrew Peterson is a great singer/songwriter and I enjoyed the performance this past December. I'm sure you and the band will do a stellar job again this year.
