Hey Oasis Family!! Happy Thanksgiving. I just wanted to jot a word to you, to encourage you, to let you know that we indeed have a lot to be thankful for. We have been studying the last book of the Bible, Revelation, at our home church here in Waverly, and I wanted to share with you somethings from chapter one that I believe, we have reason to give Him praise and be truely thankful.
1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him, to show His servants what must take place. I am thankful that Jesus has shared this revalation with us, and that He cares enough about us, to reveal what will take place.
1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the word of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it, and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Thank You Lord that you have chosen us as your servants and friends, and have shared the knowledge of the coming events with us, and have blessed us for hearing, reading, and taking to heart what is written. Thank You Lord that the time is near.
1:5 Jesus, the faithful witness... Thank You Lord that you always tell the truth, that we can trust in you, that you never lie, and that you are ever faithful.
1:5 Jesus, the first born from among the dead... Thank You Lord that you are not dead, you have risen, you rose with the victory over satan, death, hell and the grave. You still live!! You live forever!! You will never die again!! And if we trust in you, we won't either!! Praise God!!
1:5 Jesus, ruler of the kings of the earth... Thank You Lord that you are ALL mighty, ALL powerful, ruler over everything. God in ALL and of ALL. Thank You that you are God, and the Son of God. There is no other!!
1:5 To Him who loves us... Oh thank you Lord that you love us so much!! Thank you that you were willing to give your life for mine, take my punishment, my death sentence. Even when I am weak, and make mistakes, you still love me, and continue to work with me, to guide me and discipline me, to mold me and shape me. Thank You.
1:5 He has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father. WOW!! Do you know what that means!! We are the servants of the king. Chosen to serve in the everlasting kingdom of the Son of God!! The biggest, best, one and only, most spectacular kingdom of ALL!! We are also co-heirs, brothers & sisters of Christ Jesus. What He has, we have!! Thank You Lord that you are not like the other kings, the tyrants of this ole world, but you love us so much that you will share everything that is yours with us. WOW!!
That's just a few things in the first five verses that I am thankful for. You read the rest of the chapter and see if you can find a few more!!
God Bless!

Hey Chris,
We're having our home made, Cajun, "Sany's Gumbo" this Sunday night at 6:00pm. I think Bryan & Tammy Howell and all the girls (5 of them) will be here too. Let me know if you can make it.
